Your site will be backed up every day. We are able to restore your site from three versions, yesterday/week/month, although we would recommend all clients make their own site back-ups. What is my FTP Host Name for my account? Your FTP Host Name is ftp.yourdomain.com. What is the link to my control panel? You can access your control panel via http://yourdomain.com/cpanel/ I have uploaded my site but I can't see it, what's wrong? You need to upload your index.html file to the "public_HTML" folder, if you upload it anywhere else it will not work. Would I have raw log file access? Yes, all virtual accounts have access to raw log files. How often can I update my website? All accounts come with 24/7 FTP access so you can upload anytime you need to. How can I see how many visitors I am getting? You will have access to Webalizer within Cpanel which provides a comprehensive record of site statistics. A sample can be found here: www.mrunix.net/webalizer/sample What are sub-domains? It's like have a second domain name on your account, you can create a sub-domain from within Cpanel such as "support". When this is done you will have a folder located in your "public_HTML" folder called "support", if you upload an index file to this folder you can then access it by going to http://support.yourdomain.com (remember that you do not enter www with sub-domains). I am installing a script and it needs to know some server paths Path to perl: /usr/bin/perl Path to sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail Path to home directory /home/<username>/public_html/ What is Host Name for my mySQL database? The hostname is LOCALHOST. I have just opened an account but my FTP will not work FTP access will work once either the domain name has been fully registered or if you have transferred your domain name to us when the Nameserver records have been updated. Both instances will take between 24 & 72 hours. |
